April 21, 2006 - Bremerton, WA: At its April 20, 2006 Board of Director’s Meeting, the following officers were elected to the Kitsap Economic Development Council’s Executive Committee:
Chair: Elizabeth Wilson, Project Manager, Port Blakely Communities
Vice-Chair: Chris Rieland, CEO, Pacific Northwest Title
Secretary: David Porter, Executive Director, KEDC
Treasurer: Jim Carmichael, President & CEO, Kitsap Bank
Immediate Past Chair: Lary Coppola, Editor & Publisher, Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal
At Large: Jessica Kennedy, Designated Broker/Owner, Windermere Real Estate
At Large: Dwight Sutton, IslandWood Board of Directors
The following new and returning Board Members were elected at the KEDC’s Annual Meeting on March 30, 2006:
Carol Evanoff: Resident Director, Strategic Weapons Facility – Pacific, Lockheed Martin
Elliot Gregg: President & CEO, Kitsap Credit Union
Virgil Hamilton: President, Olympic Peninsula Building Trades Council
Erik Ruud: General Manager, Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside
Lary Coppola (Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal), Greg Kahler (IAP Worldwide Services) and Jon Rose (Olympic Property Group) will each be serving another 3-year term on the Board.
At the March 30th Annual Meeting, Ken Attebery received the 2005 Economic Development Champion Award for making a major contribution to Kitsap County being a more vital business and economic development community. Mary DesMarais, Director of Operations and 20-year veteran of the KEDC, received the 2005 Lifetime Achievement in Economic Development Award for making a sustained and substantial contribution to Kitsap County economic development in a manner that reflects quality leadership and abundant goodwill.
