Olympic College (OC) with campuses in Bremerton and Poulsbo, offers numerous high demand programs including aerospace and advanced manufacturing, IT, business, healthcare, and industrial trades. Additionally, OC offers baccalaureate degrees in nursing, engineering (with Washington State University), and business (with Western Washington University).  See the WWU/OC video “Collaboration” on Kitsap Connected.

Western Washington University on the Peninsulas (Poulsbo) was established in 2013 to address the need for 4-year degree programs in the West Sound region, Western Washington University on the Peninsulas (Poulsbo) offers the same high quality instruction and rigorous academic standards as on the WWU-Bellingham campus.  Current degree programs include Business Administration, Educational Leadership, Elementary Education, Environmental Policy, Environmental Science, Human Services and Multidisciplinary Studies.  In Fall of 2017, two new programs will begin: a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Systems Security, and a Master’s in Environmental Studies.  WWU partners with Olympic College in Kitsap County, allowing residents to complete their educational goals at the lowest possible cost and without the need to relocate.

Brandman University, a part of the Chapman University System, is a private, nonprofit institution accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) with programs offered both onsite and online. Bachelor, Masters, and Doctorate degrees for working adults are available for both civilian and military. Personalized advising, and small class sizes leads to over a 70% graduation rate. Brandman University offers classes online or on-campus with over 50 programs to choose from. Brandman’s  Silverdale campus offers a variety of degree programs for members of the military and civilians.

Northwest College of Art & Design (NCAD) offers degree programs in the in-demand visual arts careers including; Entertainment Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Motion Design and Photography.

The BGI at Pinchot University, which started its flagship program at Bainbridge Island’s Islandwood, offers educational programs in sustainable business, organizational leadership, and entrepreneurship. BGI was the first school to offer an MBA in Sustainable business.  Founded in 2002, BGI offers evening and weekend MBA and Certificate programs that thoroughly integrate environmental and social responsibility into every subject of the traditional core business curriculum.

Procurement Technical Assistance Center

KEDA’s Washington Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) is part of the Washington State PTAC. We provide FREE and confidential business assistance and support to regional businesses in marketing and selling to federal, state and local government agencies and prime contractors. We also assist agencies, departments and primes in their efforts to comply with federal and state procurement diversity goals. Our service area covers 5 counties: Kitsap, Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson and Mason.

High Demand Education and Training

Air Washingtona consortium of eleven of the state’s community and technical colleges which have received a $20M Department of Labor grant to strengthen our aerospace industry through workforce training.  Olympic College’s portion is $2 million over three years to develop training in Composites Manufacturing Technology, Manufacturing Technology – Precision Machining, and Electronics. By fall of 2014, Air Washington campuses will train more than 2,600 workers in advanced manufacturing /composites, electronics /avionics, aircraft assembly, and aircraft maintenance. In addition to training individuals, Air Washington will be helping businesses attain AS9100 certification, the quality standard for manufacturing in the aerospace industry.

K-12 Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) Pipeline: The articulation of education and training in the Kitsap area, from STEM and pre-engineering in K-12 schools and West Sound Tech, through a rich variety of post-secondary options, supports existing and expanding jobs in the aerospace and defense industry cluster. Aviation Classroom Experience (ACE)- A DOD $2.5 million grant to the Central Kitsap School District using a $2.5 million Department of Defense grant will partner with the National Flight Academy to offer four Aviation Classrooms.

STARBASE-Atlantis TTF Bangor is a U.S. Navy educational community outreach program managed by the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC). The program serves local community youth by offering fifth grade students the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiential  learning experiences designed to increase knowledge and interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

West Sound Technical Skills Center:  Programs in Engineering and Design, Precision Machining and Manufacturing, Construction and Welding, targeted to high school aged students and other youth.

West Hills STEM Academy (WHSA) – Bremerton School District has led the county in creating a PreK- college STEM educational track through creating a magnet STEM school, partnering with PreK schools and Olympic College/Washington State University to form a STEM education continuum.
