Washington State Ferries and several private companies offer car and passenger-only ferry service from a number of locations throughout the county, connecting Kitsap directly with Seattle and Edmonds. Need to head a little further afield? Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is roughly an hour away.

Public & Communter Transportation Services

Kitsap residents can easily reside in one community and work in another without having to deal with long, frustrating commutes by using the well-connected highway system that traverses the county. Washington State Ferries, as well as several private ferry businesses, provide a range of ferry services to Seattle from Kingston, Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, and Port Orchard. The Bremerton-Kitsap Airporter runs daily shuttles to and from SeaTac airport.

Certain individuals who lack access to reliable transportation can take advantage of two special transit services offered in the county. Kitsap Access, part of Kitsap Transit, offers shuttle services to the elderly and people with special needs. Paratransit Services, a private, non-profit organization, offers transit services to individuals receiving Medicaid services.
