The US Navy is a key element for Kitsap County's stable economy with a growing number of companies in the technology, marine and manufacuring clusters contributing to continued economic growth. In 2004, over 1,000 jobs were added in the private sector to Kitsap's employment base.

2005 and 2006 each added an annual average of 2000 jobs. In 2007 the story changed a bit with an annual loss of 200 jobs. In comparing June 2007 to June 2008 we're holding pretty steady adding about 100 jobs to Kitsap Businesses.

KEDA's Doing Business provides details on Kitsap's key business clusters, industries, and economic outlook.
