BREMERTON — Kitsap Transit began to accept reservations Monday for its cross-sound fast ferry service that begins July 10.

Seats can be reserved on all but one of the dozen daily weekday sailings — the 6:15 a.m. from Seattle. Reservations won’t be available for the 20 Saturday trips because they’re not expected to be needed.

Eighty-eight of the Rich Passage 1’s 118 seats can be booked. Riders can reserve up to four of them per day. The remaining 30 seats and any that don’t get claimed 10 minutes before departure will be released to walk-ups. Reservations must be canceled at least two hours before sailing to avoid a penalty.
